Generating, processing, and analyzing ultrasound images
This manual is intended to be used after a project has been designed or partially designed. Prior to recording and analyzing ultrasound data, it may be advisable that you refer to the ultrasound slides for an overview of how ultrasound works and how it compares to other articulatory imaging techniques.
This site is divided into two main pages, as indicated by the links below.
- In The Lab: Generating and Recording Ultrasound and Video Data discusses using Terason T3000 and Ultraspeech, the set up of hardware and software for ultrasound (as well as video and audio) recordings, saving and uploading data to the server.
- Preparing and Analyzing Ultrasound Data discusses retrieving the data from the server, preparing TextGrids and merging data, and how to use different methods of analysis, including palatoglossatron (Windows or Mac).
Please note that these pages will also include information for supplementary audio and video data recording.
